The agricultural data webinar of Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO)

On May 19-21, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) held a webinar on the theme “Exploring new frontiers for terrestrial observation and monitoring, from land assessment to agro-ecological zoning”. The webinar had three topics, i.e. “Global Terrestrial Observing System (GTOS)”, “Global Land Cover database (GLC-SHARE)”, and “Global Agro-Ecological Zoning (GAEZ)”. It involved over 100 participants from nearly 30 organizations, such as United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), United Nations Educational; Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM). Guo Huadong, a CAS academician and the Direct of SDIM, attended the webinar and made a presentation on “Big Earth Data in Support of SDGs”.
