UN’s “Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GPDRR)”, the world’s top-level global conference on disaster reduction held every two years, took place in Geneva, Switzerland on May 14. It was jointly held by Mr. Manuel Sager, Secretary of State, Switzerland, and Ms. Mami Mizutori, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Disaster Risk Reduction, and was attended by participants from 182 countries.

During the period, SDIM had organized experts to participate in a series of meetings such as Science and Policy Forum and Asia-Pacific Regional Consultation conducted by UNDRR and International Science Council (ISC). More importantly, a report of SDIM was included in the UN Global Assessment Report on Disaster Risk Reduction 2019.
