Disaster Session on 7th Digital Earth Summit

From April 17 to 19, the 7th Digital Earth Summit took place in El Jadida, Morocco. It was jointly organized by the Chouaib Doukkali University, African Association of Remote Sensing of the Environment (AARSE), International Society for Digital Earth (ISDE), and “Digital Belt and Road (DBAR)” Program to mark the “Digital Earth for Sustainable Development in Africa”.
During the summit, SDIM co-organized a themed meeting on space technology for disaster risk reduction with AARSE and the Chouaib Doukkali University. The meeting focused on the latest research findings on applying space based earth observation technology to regional water resources and related disasters in Asia, Africa, Europe and North America. It attracted more than 40 audiences with 12 oral presentations and four poster presentations given by delegates from China, Pakistan, Morocco, Tunisia, Spain, Italy and the United States.
