From July 17 to 18, 2017, the 2017 International Workshop on “CPEC Natural Hazards Risk Assessment and Mitigation” and the 2nd Workshop of “Silk Road Disaster Risk Reduction” was held in Islamabad, Pakistan. More than 140 scholars from 12 countries (e.g., China, Pakistan, Russia, Italy) attended the workshop, and the progresses of SDIM have been reported at workshop and the scientific methods have been will shared with colleagues in Pakistan. After the workshop the SDIM team built a stable academic collaboration with partner at Department of Geography, University of Peshawar, Pakistan.
