On April 9, 2015, the International Liaison Department of China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), CAS-TWAS SDIM, the Department of Cultural and Educational Experts under the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, and Chinese National Committee for International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG) jointly launched a symposium on the Belt and Road strategy in Beijing. Participants discussed thoroughly the Belt and Road initiative, proposed their plans and visions for how to better serve the strategy with science and technology, and shared their constructive suggestions on how to boost innovation through collaboration and how to plan and design projects together.
