In June 2015, Elke Sleurs, Secretary State of Belgium, led a delegation to visit SDIM and the Digital Agriculture & Global Disasters Research Division which released the global food production and crop condition monitoring report when she accompanied King Philippe to China. A meeting was held to advance the follow-up work for the memorandum of understanding on cooperation between SDIM and the Flemish Institute for Technological Research (VITO) and to discuss the next step work for the China-Belgium global vegetation-monitoring satellite program.
